ManaSota-88 has established an education scholarship in honor of the past chairman of ManaSota-88, Gloria Rains. Through her hard work, long hours and dedication, Gloria built ManaSota-88 into an organization that would not compromise on public health and environmental issues. She believed that any compromise on these critical issues should be left to the politically minded.

It is the responsibility of ManaSota-88 to always stand firmly for the the integrity of the environment and for the public's health. The manner in which Gloria lived her life inspires us to continue with the work of ManaSota-88.

Gloria Rains has made an impression that will be felt for generations to come. We plan to continue Gloria’s mission through the establishment of an education scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded annually to an upper level college student majoring in environmental health and science and/or environmental law.

ManaSota-88 is a nonprofit 501.c3 organization  dedicated  to protecting the health and preservation of the environment.

ManaSota-88 volunteers are unpaid. A steering committee provides overall leadership and direction. We operate entirely through volunteer support. We receive no contributions from the government or special interest groups, nor does ManaSota-88 accept contributions from any polluting industries. Private citizens contribute 100 percent of our operating revenues.

Please support our efforts to establish an education scholarship in  memory of Gloria Rains. Please make a tax deductible contribution to ManaSota-88 and identify on the check that the contribution is for the Gloria Rains Environmental Education Scholarship .
